IN HONOR OF THE LIVING LEGEND

Ajaratou
Jainaba Nyang Njie

A continuation of the legacy she continues to build and the values she lives by every day.

When Jarga was first launched in December 2013, there was one person who stood quietly behind the scenes, guiding, supporting, and steadying us.

For us, visiting The Gambia without our parents never felt like being away from home because we had our mother here. Jainaba Nyang-Njie has been everybody’s mother for decades.
A constant presence.
A voice of reason.
A pillar of media, journalism, and public service in The Gambia.

Beyond the screen and the microphone, she has championed women at every level! Women in leadership, in business, in politics, in health, in equality. Her activism, wisdom, and unwavering strength shaped generations, including ours.

The Naba Bag is our tribute to her.
To the woman who has nurtured this brand from the moment it was just a thought.
To the mother whose influence is woven into our story.
To the icon whose name now stands proudly within our collection.

We could not move forward without honoring her, visually, intentionally, and permanently.

The Naba Bag is more than a handbag.
It is a thank you. A symbol.
A continuation of the legacy she has built and the values she has lived.
